Sugar/Sweet Craving

What Causes Sweet Cravings?

Sweet cravings can have various causes, ranging in severity from 'very minor' to 'very serious'.  Finding the true cause means ruling out or confirming each possibility – in other words, diagnosis.

Diagnose your symptoms now!
  • check your overall health status
  • understand what's happening to your body
  • let The Analyst™ find what's wrong

Diagnosis is usually a complex process due to the sheer number of possible causes and related symptoms.  In order to diagnose sweet cravings, we could:

  • Research the topic
  • Find a doctor with the time
  • Use a diagnostic computer system.
The process is the same, whichever method is used.

Step 1: List all Possible Causes

We begin by identifying the disease conditions which have "sweet cravings" as a symptom.  Here are eight of many possibilities (more below):
  • Tryptophan Need
  • Carbohydrate Craving
  • PMS C
  • Chromium Deficiency
  • Candida / Yeast
  • Low Progesterone
  • Gilbert's Syndrome
  • Sulfur Need

Step 2: Build a Symptom Checklist

We then identify all possible symptoms and risk factors of each possible cause, and check the ones that apply:
not eating garlic
meal-related bloating
highly elevated basophil count
not eating eggs
painful swallowing
heavily coated tongue
history of candidiasis
irritability related to cycle
intolerance of sugars
afternoon coffee/sugar craving
moderate chocolate craving
heart racing/palpitations
... and more than 60 others

Step 3: Rule Out or Confirm each Possible Cause

A differential diagnosis of your symptoms and risk factors finds the likely cause of sweet cravings:
Cause Probability Status
Tryptophan Need 92% Confirm
Chromium Deficiency 30% Unlikely
Candida / Yeast 17% Unlikely
Low Progesterone 0% Ruled out
Carbohydrate Craving 0% Ruled out
Sulfur Need 0% Ruled out
Gilbert's Syndrome 0% Ruled out
PMS C 0% Ruled out
