Oxidative Stress

Definition of Oxidative Stress:

An imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants in the body in which there are more free radicals present than can be kept in balance by antioxidants.  Although free radicals help fight off pathogens, they start doing damage to fatty tissue, DNA, and proteins when there are too many and this can lead to a wide variety of diseases over time.
