For thirty years now, Dr. Powers has been serving his clients as their holistic primary care physician and chiropractor. He carefully listens to his clients' concerns, and utilizes the latest laboratory and web-enabled technology to efficiently and cost-effectively identify the underlying causes of their health challenges. Dr. Powers then designs and presents a wholesome healthcare plan to guide and support the restoration of their health and vitality in a practical and rewarding way.
By providing on-going coaching and inspiration, as well as regular, consistent monitoring of their relevant lab work, Dr. Powers supports the realization of each client's health goals.
Dr. Powers is passionately committed to co-creating an 'epidemic' of health-responsible living. Ultimately, he believes, establishing balance and joy in our day-to-day living fosters balance, wholeness, and vitality in our bodies.
Education & Training
After completing a premedical curriculum at Tulane University, Dr. Powers received his doctorate in chiropractic medicine in 1980, graduating summa cum laude.
He has received extensive post-graduate training both in the U.S. and in Europe, and is well versed in the fields of biological and functional medicine, clinical nutrition, dietary guidance, exercise physiology, homeopathy, low-level 'cold' laser therapy, as well as weight and lifestyle management.
Dr. Powers is a certified Health Coach®, a member of the Health Coach® Advisory Board, and a founding member of the Health Coach® Certification Board. He has received certification as a Shape Shift® specialist, and as such, is proficient and experienced in coaching healthy and sustainable weight and shape improvements for his clients.
Dr. Powers is also proficient in the usage of the LSA-Pro (Zyto technology), the latest development in electrodermal screening, to help screen for more compatible and effective nutritional solutions for his clients.
Publications & Out-reach Programs
A contributing author of the Health Scene Investigation anthology series, Dr. Powers also maintains a position on the Xymogen Medical Advisory Board.
Invited to speak as an expert on diet and nutrition, he has appeared on both cable network broadcasts and radio talk shows, and has been teaching courses in healthy living and thinking to both health professionals and to the public for over thirty years.
Clinical Practice
With a staff of medical doctors, chiropractic physicians, nurses, and an administrative team, Dr. Powers established and directed the Holistic Healing Center in 1983 in Atlanta. In 2001, he relocated to Stuart, Florida, and co-founded the Holistic Medical Center, where he currently practices.
