Health Declining With Age

What Causes Declining Health?

Declining health can have various causes, ranging in severity from 'worrying' to 'needs attention'.  Finding the true cause means ruling out or confirming each possibility – in other words, diagnosis.

Diagnosis is usually a complex process due to the sheer number of possible causes and related symptoms.  In order to diagnose declining health, we could:

  • Research the topic
  • Find a doctor with the time
  • Use a diagnostic computer system.
The process is the same, whichever method is used.

Step 1: List all Possible Causes

We begin by identifying the disease conditions which have "declining health" as a symptom.  Here are five possibilities:
  • Low Testosterone
  • Low Estrogens
  • Low HGH
  • Low DHEA
  • Premature Aging

Step 2: Build a Symptom Checklist

We then identify all possible symptoms and risk factors of each possible cause, and check the ones that apply:
morning stiffness without pain
difficulty staying up late
high green tea consumption
reduced underarm/pubic hair growth
disturbed sleep
history of lung cancer
being lean or underweight
squamous cell skin cancer
long focal length
reduced skin elasticity
angry/hostile disposition
major unexplained weight gain
... and more than 40 others

Step 3: Rule Out or Confirm each Possible Cause

A differential diagnosis of your symptoms and risk factors finds the likely cause of declining health:
Cause Probability Status
Premature Aging 90% Confirm
Low Estrogens 26% Unlikely
Low DHEA 4% Ruled out
Low Testosterone 2% Ruled out
Low HGH 0% Ruled out
* This is a simple example to illustrate the process

Arriving at a Correct Diagnosis

The Analyst™ is our online diagnosis tool that learns all about you through a straightforward process of multi-level questioning, providing diagnosis at the end.

In the Symptoms Of Aging section of the questionnaire, The Analyst™ will ask the following question about health declining with age:
Does your overall health seem to be declining as you age?
Possible responses:
→ No more than normal / don't know
→ No, not at all
→ Slightly - minor issues are turning up
→ Moderately - I am definitely having more problems
→ Seriously - my health is declining at a rapid rate
Based on your response to this question, which may indicate health not declining, minor health decline, some health decline or rapidly declining health, The Analyst™ will consider possibilities such as:
