How Easily Your Body Moves

What Causes Slow Physical Movement?

Slow physical movement can have various causes, just like most other symptoms.  Finding the true cause means ruling out or confirming each possibility – in other words, diagnosis.

Diagnose your symptoms now!
  • understand what's happening to your body
  • identify any nutritional deficiencies
  • learn what you should be doing right now

Diagnosis is usually a complex process due to the sheer number of possible causes and related symptoms.  In order to diagnose slow physical movement, we could:

  • Research the topic
  • Find a doctor with the time
  • Use a diagnostic computer system.
The process is the same, whichever method is used.

Step 1: List all Possible Causes

We begin by identifying the disease conditions which have "slow physical movement" as a symptom.  For example, Parkinson's disease.

Step 2: Build a Symptom Checklist

We then identify all possible symptoms and risk factors of each possible cause, and check the ones that apply:
frequent sleepwalking
past ecstasy use
having poor posture
gradual decline in speaking ability
suspected Parkinson's disease
possible Parkinson's disease
poor bodily coordination
hand tremors
impaired ability to walk
slow reaction time
much reduced sense of smell
confirmed Parkinson's disease
... and so on

Step 3: Rule Out or Confirm each Possible Cause

A differential diagnosis of your symptoms and risk factors finds the likely cause of slow physical movement.

Arriving at a Correct Diagnosis

The Analyst™ is our online diagnosis tool that learns all about you through a straightforward process of multi-level questioning, providing diagnosis at the end.

In the General Symptoms section of the questionnaire, The Analyst™ will ask the following question about how easily your body moves:
What best describes your physical movements?
Possible responses:
→ Slow / heavy
→ Average / don't know
→ Quick / efficient / light
Based on your response to this question, which may indicate slow/heavy physical motion, average physical motion or quick/light physical motion, The Analyst™ will consider possibilities such as Parkinson's Disease.  Symptoms of Parkinson's disease include stiffness or slowness of movement, a shuffling walk, stooped posture, and difficulties in performing simple tasks.
