Montmorillonite

Montmorillonite describes a clay mineral complex or colloidal mineral silicate. Little research has been done on the therapeutic effects of using this ingredient, but standard chemical tests have shown up to 74 different minerals (most of them trace) in montmorillonite. It is often added to multiple vitamin formulations to add small levels of trace minerals.

Trace Element (Trace Elements, Trace Mineral, Trace Minerals)
A mineral or element that is essential, in small amounts, for good health. Nutritionists prefer to call minerals either minerals or trace minerals depending on the amount needed by the body, while analytical chemists prefer to call minerals 'trace elements'.
