Sickle Cell Disease

Evaluating Risk Factors: Sickle Cell Disease

Evaluating your likely current (and near future) state of health means taking into account the risk factors — such as sickle cell disease — that affect you.   Our medical diagnosis tool, The Analyst™, identifies major risk factors by asking the right questions.

Diagnose your symptoms now!
  • understand what's happening to your body
  • let The Analyst™ find what's wrong
  • check your overall health status
If you indicate history of anemia, The Analyst™ will ask further questions including this one:
Do you have the Sickle Cell Trait or Sickle Cell Anemia / Disease?
Possible responses:
→ Don't know
→ No, tested negative
→ Sickle cell trait only
→ Sickle cell disease

The Diagnostic Process

Based on your response to this question, which may indicate absence of sickle cell disease, sickle cell trait or sickle cell disease, The Analyst™ will use differential diagnosis to consider possibilities such as Retinopathy.  The sickle-shaped blood cell reduces blood flow, potentially leading to sickle cell retinopathy.  Patients will not have visual symptoms early on in the disease and need to be followed closely in case neovascularization occurs.
