Your Most Recent Visit To The Tropics

Evaluating Risk Factors: Recent Tropical Travel

Evaluating your likely current (and near future) state of health means taking into account the risk factors — such as your most recent visit to the tropics — that affect you.   Our medical diagnosis tool, The Analyst™, identifies major risk factors by asking the right questions.

Diagnose your symptoms now!
  • check your overall health status
  • understand what's happening to your body
  • learn what you should be doing right now
If you indicate having recently visited tropics, The Analyst™ will ask further questions including this one:
When was the last time that you were in the tropics?
Possible responses:
→ More than 5 years ago / don't know
→ Within the past 5 years
→ Within the past 2 years
→ Within the past 6 months
→ Within the past month

The Diagnostic Process

Based on your response to this question, which may indicate either recent visit(s) to the tropics or very recent visit(s) to the tropics, The Analyst™ will use differential diagnosis to consider possibilities such as Malaria.  Any traveler who becomes ill with a fever or flu-like illness while traveling and up to 1 year after returning home should immediately seek professional medical care.  They should tell their health care provider that they have been traveling in a malaria-risk area.
