Erectile Dysfunction (ED, Impotence)

Recommendation Test for Hormones
"...When considering lab testing, a full panel of tests should be considered such as DHEA, testosterone (total and free), DHT, sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG), estradiol, luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin (best taken at 9am to avoid diurnal variations), progesterone and a PSA test for prostate cancer..."

The Condition
"...Vitex stimulates the pituitary gland to produce more luteinizing hormone, and this leads to a greater production of progesterone..."

Gamma Oryzanol

As A Treatment
"...For menopause, it may affect a key hormone, luteinizing hormone..."

Hyperprolactinemia

The Condition
"...In the case of most pituitary hormones, including Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH), the presence of hypothalamic hormones signals the pituitary to increase production..."

Metrorrhagia

The Condition
"...Anovulatory or estrogen breakthrough bleeding is caused by the production of estrogen without normal surges of luteinizing hormone (LH) and secretion of progesterone from the corpus luteum..."

Recommendation Vitex / Chasteberry

Progesterone Low or Estrogen Dominance

Recommendation Vitex / Chasteberry

Testosterone Levels, Test

As A Treatment
"...If testosterone is low, a full hormonal evaluation consisting of LH (luteinizing hormone), prolactin, FSH and TSH may be recommended..."
