Glossary: Proanthocyanidin
 


Definition
Also called procyanidin, it is a powerful antioxidant that chemically belongs to the class of bioflavonoids. Pycnogenol® is an example of a commercial product. Grape seed extract, pine bark extract, as well as berries such as hawthorn berries, cherries, blueberries, and blackberries and, to a lesser extent, red wine, are natural sources.
