Hello,
My baby passed away on 10th August 2006 after born healthy on 29th July, 2006. He was born healthy with little jaundice. He was treated for 5 days in hospital under photo therapy. Then he is discharged to home. After 2 days, we came to regular checkup to hospital where they found jaundice levels are at 25. Immidiately we admitted in hospital and he was put again in Photo therapy. His body is NOT looking yellow. He is taking breast feeding very well, sleeping very well in the photo therapy. He cried very rare. Looks at us.. smiles..all normal..
Sudenly on 10th day evening, he cried a lot and stopped taking milk..
Doctors immidiately diagnosed that his lungs are infected and he is having severe penumonia.
Then they gave him oxygen and made more tests.
His heart is normal, but lungs got severly infected.
He is moved to NICU, where he fight for two days and left us in cry.

Dear Sreenath,
First of all, I am devasted to hear that you have lost your baby. PPHN is very difficult to treat and I am sure that everyone (including you!) wasted no time and did their best to save him.
PPHN can have more than cause, so I would have to see all the test results, and know more about the birth itself (APGAR scores, etc.,) as well as your personal medical history, especially during the last trimester. If you do not find it too painful to go over all these details again, I would be happy to assist you. Your next baby is not automatically in danger, although there may be some changes I can suggest, based on the info you provide, that could make for a healthier experience in general.
Please let me know how I can help. The more details you provide, the better.
