episodes of terrible fatigue--for 15 years

Postby perry » Fri Sep 07, 2007 8:51 am

for the past 15 years or more (i'm currently 66) i have suffered from what i call "episodes"--the first episode that i remember started after a very good 8-9 hour sleep; i had my coffee and within 30 minutes of getting up, i became extremely tired and weak---i went back to bed for an additional 4-5 hours of sleep----slept 8-9 more hours that night and repeated this for a total of 3 days

episodes like this have been occurring every 2-3 months or 2-3 times a month and last 2-3 days or a week or as long as 2 months (yes, that is 60 days each sleeping 8-10 hours at night and 4-8 hours EACH DAY)--- that episode was july 10 to sept 10 2006

additional symptoms include headache, muscle pain, chills, and loss of voice

of course we have doctored---family, endrochronologist, cardiologist, resperatory, several emergency room drs
ALL of my blood work and other testing (including sleep apthnia) are normal

i suffer with depression and am taking 20mg prozac (works very well for the depression) and my T4 is low, i take 80mc thyroxine

4 times a week i exercise 60 minutes on a cross trainer, plus treadmill and weights plus 1/2 hr yoga a couple of times a week---YET THE DAY AFTER OR THE SAME DAY THAT I EXERCISE, I MAY HAVE TO BE HELPED UP 6 STEPS TO GO TO BED AND SLEEP 4 HOURS

i seem to have a sugar sensitivity, but my blood sugar is always in normal range

i'm a 66 years old white female, 5'2", weigh 195#

please help--if you wish, i will provide my phone # and answer any specific questions :(

Sorry that this reply is very late but nobody else has left one.

I have depression and know a lot of people with it - sleeping for a lot of time is sometimes a symptom, as are random unexplained pains. If nothing else is showing up, it maybe is just a further symptom of your current illness?

Sounds like you have chronic fatigue sympdrome, could be a sign of Adrenal Fatigue. I came across this article that maybe helpful for you: http://www.drlam.com/A3R_brief_in_doc_f ... atigue.cfm
