Dr. Craig Burns attended Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, one of the top science based Chiropractic colleges in the country.  He grew up in Vancouver, Canada but moved to Redmond in 2005 and has made it his new home along with his wife Lisa and their new daughter, Catalina.  Like many Canadians, he enjoys playing ice hockey and was pleasantly surprised by the level of competition available in the greater Seattle area.  He also enjoys spending his free time camping and exploring the great Northwest with his family in their 'vintage' Westfalia.

Dr. Burns' chiropractic philosophy incorporates not only the judicious use of spinal and extremity manipulation, but a variety of techniques including the Activator, manual adjustments, Arthrostim, and the need to address soft tissue restrictions.  His interest in the correlation between spinal/skeletal biomechanics and soft tissue restrictions drew him to the Graston technique which utilizes "patented instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization...to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions."  (www.grastontechnique.com).  His approach to patient care includes teaching patients to take an active role in their health by emphasizing proper ergonomics, posture, and incorporating stretching and light exercise into their everyday lives.  He also evaluates and casts orthotics when indicated.  He believes that by empowering patients with this knowledge and helping them to recognize the patterns, which have led to their condition, he will help them prevent future exacerbations and increase their overall well being and quality of life.  Dr. Burns works with his patients to develop a treatment plan that addresses their needs and helps them achieve their health goals.

I am a Family Nurse Practitioner practicing for nearly two decades in Colorado, New Mexico and now in Washington.  Early in my career as a healer, I was a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery, working in traditional Hospitals, Birthing Centers and on the Shiprock Indian Reservation assisting women as they birthed their babies.  I have Graduate Degrees from the University of Colorado and the University of New Mexico as both a Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner and a Family Nurse Practitioner.  I have been quite fortunate to have studied with some incredibly gifted teachers and traditional healers and I have subsequently incorporated this colorful, eclectic array of modalities into my Practice.

I specialize in working with folks with digestive disorders, food allergies and chronic disease.  I also have a strong background in Pediatrics and Women's Health.  My philosophy of Practice is steeped in a Functional Medicine approach.  This is a holistic and integral in depth client-centered approach addressing the whole person, not just their "symptoms".  We will look at and assess multiple factors including your environment; physical exercise and possible toxic exposures; genetic makeup; mind-body elements: emotional, spiritual and social factors and how they can impact your stress response.  A treatment approach may include physical exams; blood, stool and saliva analysis; therapeutic supplementation; detoxification programs; botanical and pharmaceutical medicines; as well as stress management and nutrition and healthy lifestyle counseling.  You are an active partner, in charge of improving your health.

I see myself as a guide encouraging and educating folks to re-member and trust their own innate knowing that they can heal themselves and create a harmonious relationship of body, mind and spirit.

I look forward to assisting you on your Path to Wellness.
