Thyroiditis

Definition of Thyroiditis:

Inflammation of the thyroid; there are several forms of thyroiditis, including chronic or Hashimoto's thyroiditis (also called autoimmune or chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis), subacute thyroiditis, and painless or postpartum thyroiditis.  Thyroiditis often results in hypothyroidism.
